Louder, Clearer, More Inclusive
Fusion Digital Delivers ADA-Compliant Hearing Loops Across 110 Wegmans Locations
Wegmans Food Markets partnered with Fusion Digital to improve accessibility at checkout for hearing-impaired customers. The initiative involved installing assistive hearing loop systems across the front-end register lanes in over 100 store locations—supporting a more inclusive shopping experience.

The Challenge
Wegmans needed a scalable, ADA-compliant audio solution that could enhance customer service for hearing aid users in high-traffic checkout areas. The system had to integrate smoothly into existing store operations and be deployed across 110 stores with minimal disruption and a tight rollout schedule.
Our Solution
Fusion Digital implemented Contacta SupaLoop Aerial hearing loop systems at each location, creating a direct and interference-free audio connection for customers using the telecoil (‘T’) setting on their hearing aids. The team coordinated closely with both corporate stakeholders and local store teams to ensure consistent installations, on-site testing, and on-time delivery across the entire six-month deployment window.
The Technology

Contacta SupaLoop Aerial Hearing Loop Systems

Wireless magnetic signal for telecoil (‘T’) setting hearing aids

ADA-compliant assistive listening technology
The Result
Wegmans now offers a consistent and accessible checkout experience across all locations, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive customer service. The project was completed on schedule and within budget, giving thousands of hearing-impaired customers an easier, more dignified way to communicate at the register.
The More You Know
Unlike other assistive listening systems that require separate receivers or devices, hearing loops broadcast sound directly to telecoil-enabled hearing aids. This technology reduces background noise and enhances clarity, making it the gold standard for accessibility in public spaces—from airports to retail stores.
