The Objective
Syracuse University aimed to enhance the lobby of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a cutting-edge digital display that preserved the architectural integrity of the space and maintained ADA compliance. The primary goal was to create a visually striking installation to showcase student work while managing heavy foot traffic in a way that blended seamlessly with the building’s design.
This installation earned Fusion Digital the Samsung Installation of the Year award.

The Approach
Fusion Digital worked closely with Samsung, internal and external architects, and the Gensler design team to ensure the digital display was a natural extension of the lobby’s architecture. Careful planning ensured that the installation remained ADA compliant while enhancing the space.
Samsung’s The Wall, a modular MicroLED display, was customized to fit the lobby's unique dimensions, offering a visually stunning and practical solution. Its adaptability allowed us to install a display that integrated perfectly with the existing space.
The Wall’s bezel-less and ultra-thin design provided a sleek, modern look that complemented the wooden slat design of the lobby. This integration maintained the aesthetic integrity of the space while adding a high-tech focal point.
The Wall's microLED technology provided sharp, vibrant visuals, even in spaces filled with natural light. This ensured that student work was displayed with the highest level of clarity and visibility, regardless of viewing angle or distance.
Samsung’s The Wall was chosen not only for its visual excellence but also for its commercial-grade durability. Designed to last up to 10 years, this solution will provide the university with long-term functionality and reduced maintenance costs.
